Our Answer
Child Crisis Centers around the
country provide parents In crisis with a break from the stresses of
childrearing and provide at-risk children shelter in a safe
environment. in a collaborative effort with existing agencies, the
Child Crisis Center will provide:
* Emergency Shelter for
Children
* Safe and Protected Environment
* Crisis Nursery
* Crisis Intervention, Counseling, Case Management, and Referral
* Balanced, Nutritious Meals and Snacks
This agency would provide a safe and supportive environment for
children along with a resource for parents and caregivers. The Child
Crisis Center would provide support services within its own service
delivery by networking with an array of community agencies through
informal and formal collaborative agreements, include the following:
* Family Counseling
* Individual Counseling
* Service Coordination
* Parenting Classes
* Access to Medical Services
* Home Management Training
* Employment Training
* Substance Abuse Prevention
* Development Assessments
The services offered will be designed to accomplish positive
development in children, immediate reduction in stress, introduction
and facilitation to community resources, a resource for parents,
shelter and separation at critical times, role modeling, educational
opportunities and decreased isolation. In offering this
comprehensive approach, the center will interrupt the cycle of
violence and abuse within these families. |
